Deeparaya Celebrations at Boarding School

Hello everyone!

I hope you enjoyed your first fine dining experience together as a class at Boarding School! (: Please let me know how it went when we meet tomorrow okay? I'm sorry Mdm Artina and I couldn't be there tonight! It would have been lovely to see all of you decked in your formal attire!

Anyway, here are some photos that I took during Deeparaya celebrations at Boarding School (: Thought that it would be apt to post these photos since we celebrated Deeparaya in college today. To the four brave girls - Aisyah, Intan, Naimi & Sabrina - who put up a spectacular performance for us, thank you! =) We'd a good time watching your various performances! Not to forget Chan Woo, the ever-so-sporting one, who volunteered for the costume dress-up section! =) I hope all of you managed to try some yummy food at the atrium after the performance.

Alright enough talking, now for the photos! (:

Trying very hard to make ketupats!

The artistic ones drawing lights/ lamps

Gabrielle, Jace and the boys' table (: Can tell that they were paying attention to whoever was talking!

Yuet Xin & Jian Xuan looking very serious!

 Lignum table! (:
How the dining hall looked that night (:

Alright that's all for now everyone! (: Take care and have a good rest this weekend because next week's going to be really exciting! =) Goodnight!

Tchuokball Matters

Hello class! (:

The interhouse tchuokball competition will be held next Tuesday at 6pm in the hall.

Can everyone please participate actively either in the tchuokball or cheering competitions because we want to do our class and our house proud! =)

I'm very pleased that our mini tchuokball discussion went quite well just now but we can definitely improve on our cheering! =) Please memorize the class cheer by Friday so that we can practice cheering during homeroom if possible okay?

Here is the class cheer that Kristy and Rachel have created (thank you, you two!):

01, oi!
   - Oi!
01, oi!
   - Oi!

[begin clapping]

01 unite, we show our might
show them how we fight fight fight
we're back and stronger than before
Oh~ (wave)

We, the 01 bond,
we are fast and strong
though we scream
though we shout
teamwork's what we're all about

Who's gonna win gonna win gonna win?
   - we're gonna win gonna win gonna win
Who's gonna win gonna win gonna win?
   - we're gonna win gonna win gonna win

101, 101, 101
We are THE ONE!

Personally I think that this cheer is very well put together so please learn it by heart! =) It'll definitely help to lift the tchuokball players' spirits and give them the support that they need when playing!

Speaking of which, here are our tchuokball players:

1. Naimi
2. Aisyah
3. Sabrina
4. Stephanie
5. Grant/ Hans
6. Chan Woo
7. Brian

Reserve players: Suu Mon, Rachel, Lock Yin

Alright class, we've about a week to the competition. Please work together as a class and make our first competition together a memorable and successful one! =)

Thank you!

Feedback - Class Outing

Your feedback is important to us... so that the people involved in the planning of the next class outing can take your responses into consideration.... here are your valuable feedback...

1. How did you feel about the class outing?
  • Exciting & fun
  • Beneficial for class spirit BUT
  • Too short
  • Hard to move around (20 people)

2. What did you think was good about the planning process?
  • Fair decision making via votes
  • Transportation – good
  • Class was briefed well – no confusion, e.g. cost, time etc.
  • Make definite decision.
  • Night Safari is a good place to go.
  • Everyone’s opinion was taken in deciding the time, date etc.

3. What did you think could have been improved?
  • Time/ date
  • Planning could have taken place much earlier
  • Not much bonding between the class
  • The response and cooperation of the class during discussion
  • The location so that we can spend more time together
  • Not enough time for all the activities, e.g. Night walk
  • Need to organise the activities at the venue
  • Everyone should make an effort to come by having an outing after exam
  • Could have an entire day outing

4. If you were to organise a class outing again, what will you do to ensure it runs smoothly?
  • Make sure everyone will go
  • Help research on the place we’re going to
  • Make sure everyone enjoy the activities.
  • Come up with a schedule
  • Make it more fun and engaging by meeting the class’ wants.
  • Write everything we plan clearly
  • Help to think of the solutions to a problem
  • Pick a day where everyone is free and plan in advance
  • Carry out votes and surveys
  • Will try to accommodate to the classmates’ available time slots so that all can go
  • Cater to everyone’s needs
Thanks!
